Well, call me a liar! It was just Mother Nature playing a cruel joke on us. CRUEL! For the past 4 days or so, it's been windy and cold. Not chilly, but down right cold! Today it was about 30 and of course windy. My mom and I went shopping up in Northern Iowa and it was even worse up there. The wind was so strong, that at times, we couldn't even pull open a door.
What did we go shopping for you might be asking? That's a very good question. We went to the quilt shops up there and some gift shops, but nothing really seemed to jump out at us and scream, "Buy me! Take me home with you!". I did get a new quilt pattern to make a 9-patch Log Cabin Quilt and a cute wire basekt to hang on the wall to put button jars in. I have always wanted to make a log cabin quilt from my scraps and that pattern was the simpliest one I could find. My mom also got a wire basket and a couple of books to read. Tomorrow we're off to get her a new sewing machine, Easter gifts for my niece and nephews and yes, more quilt shops! Bundle up and stay warm...hopefully Spring will be here soon for good!
